TEAM D

With an emphasis on TEAM.

When I dig past my gut reaction (read: aversion) to the idea of group travel, I uncover a collection of individuals - each one of them potentially full of character and interest - and remind myself that this is what I'll take away (not all the name tags and coach shuttles).

The small gathering of team members on Wednesday night brought this point home for me. I arrived late to find an interesting and excited group of souls with whom, no matter how utterly different we may be, I share two common facts: we've all spent the last six or more months training and fundraising for a very worthy cause and humbling goal.

It's really quite remarkable.
