I did it!!

Unofficial time: 4:08 and it was FUN. The course was BEAUTIFUL and it was a gorgeous day - sunny with some ominous clouds in the distance - VERY windy.

Ran with a lovely fellow named Dave for first 37km then left him in my dust (with his blessing) - we had fun. Pushed hard for the last 5km and finished with a sprint down the shute that nearly did me in.

I was left with nothing, but four hours and almost as many Advil later, I´m starting to feel my energy coming back.

I´m so proud of everyone. Jenny upgraded from the half to the full and surprised herself (not to mention her family) with how strong she was. Dave cam back from 3 months of no running to finish his first marathon in almost 25 years. One of our women came in second at 3:36 and didn´t know what they were saying to her when they tried to pull her up on the podium.

Now it´s time for the victory party and a crazy night on the streets of Reykjavik - it´s the biggest party of the year here with almost two-thirds of the country in the downtown to celebrate. Great way to end (or rather, continue) a huge day.
