First impressions
I have no idea what day it is.
My watch tells me it´s August 17th, 11:18pm, but my mind and my body are at odds with this reality - I'm exhausted and disoriented but exhilaratedd at the same time.
Iceland, so far, has made quite an impression on me. The first glimpse out the window of the airplane, the bizarre yet familiar moonscape driving into Reykjavik, the people (both local and the Team D crew), the architecture, the weather - all are swirling around seeking expression in this sleep-deprived head of mine, yet finding no release. (trying to type on this bizarre keyboard doesn't help much...) Perhaps a good night's rest will make a difference.
For those who understand: did Jonas's Haunted Iceland tour tonight and it was AMAZING - everything you would expect and so much more, delivered with charm, wit and, yes, deep sincerity. Very impressive. I would recommend it as a must-do in Reykjavik. Whale watching this afternoon was a grand success - sighted a rare Baskin Shark (huge!) and some rather elusive Minke whales as well as a host of puffins and other sea birds. Great scenery, weather and company to boot. Will try to figure out how to upload photos. Stay tuned.
