Back in action

Exhausted but happy after an action-packed weekend, I'm pleased to report that I had two great runs this weekend.

A 16k on Saturday morning at a race pace that falls between 5:45 and 6:00 (JENNY: thanks for pointing out my error - I meant a pace that would have me finish somewhere between 4:00 and 4:15 - love that edit feature!) My highly scientific method of gauging my pace consists of dividing the total time of the run by the number of km Map My Run tells me I covered, so it's difficult to be precise about these things.

I did dip into some technology on my run this afternoon - used a heart-rate monitor for a tour of CastleGlen (the kind of run that reminds me why I love running - second only to Amherst Island in my inventory of favourite runs). Sadly the numbers don't mean all that much to me, but I can see how people find the strange little device useful. I may give it a more serious try in future training.

OK - off to bed. It's race week - I'm past my bedtime.
